The Carnegie Library.
C. R. Weatherfiogg, artchitect of the Carnegie library building oame over from Fort Wayne, Tuesday, to present bis plans for the proposed building to the library board. The plans were aooepted practioally gs drawn, but some ohanges in partitions eto. will be made, before final acceptance.« The building will be iu size 50 by 60 feet, and of oue story and a basement, and will be bnilt of atone or pressed brick. The main floor will oontain the books, reading room, librarian’s office eto. The basement will have a large assumbly room, large enough to seat 400 people, and will also have an nnpaoking room, and furnace and fnel rooms. It is probable that an independent heating plant will be installed, instead of heating from the oity power s'ation, as has been contemplated. The bnilding will be a good distance back from the sidewalks, on *both streets, and with the longer side fronting on Van Rents*!aer street.
It is the architect’s opinion that it is too late in the season to do more this fall than to let the oontraot, and that the foundation work had best be deferred until next spring.
