And now the great Dan Patch is no longer the King of paoers, at least not until he oan knock off a little more than two seoonds from his beet previous performance. At New York Wednesday Prinoe Alert paced a mile in 1.47, whioh is two seoonds better than Dan Patoh’s best record and also the best harness record ever made. The traok and the weather were perfeot, and a running horse preceded Alert, to set the pace, and palling a big oanvas wind break, and likely enongh under,the same conditions Dan Patoh would have made as good a record.
