Hildebrand Gets License.
The “Grind” Jury Grinds a Great Grist Other Circuit Court Matters. | As a result of the seemingly decisive viotory won by the Rensselaer saloon keepers at the last term of the commissioners’ court, Henry Hildebrand will now get his saloon lioense. He was decided against at the Jane term, on a remonstrance, by a very narrow margin. He then took an appeal to the circuit court. There the matter ended this, Saturday forenoon. when Frank Foltz, the attorney dor the remonstrators, appeared in oourt and withdrew the original remonstranoe. This left Hildy in the same shape as though he had not been remonstrated against, and therefore entitled to a license. Judge Hanley therefore ordered to county auditor to issue him the lioense. forthwith.
Another saloon matter disposed of was the dismissal of the appeal of August Rosenbaum, also ruled sg*iast bJ4he Commissioners in June, but for whose saloon another party has already been given a lioense.
The grand jury finished their work Friday evening, and were discharged* They brought in the the unusually large number of 18 indictments. , Their reports on the jail and poor farm management were favorable, except that the familiar recommendation a much needed new heating plant at the poor farm is renewed. E. E. Preble, owner of the Rensselaer, bowling alleys and pool rooms drew four of the 18 new indiotments, for allowing minore to play pool. He gave the necessary bond for his appearance. A three year old girl, a former ward of a home finding institution of Chicago, was legally adopted by Miss Minnie Bartoo, of Remington, and given the name of Pauline Lucile Bartoo.
