Centenarian at the Poor Farm.

The oldest person in Jasper county and one of the oldest in Northwest Indiana, is now an inmate of the Jasper oounty poor farm having at last came to the the condition reaohed by such a large proportion of those who live to an extreme old age. It is Mrs, Mary Wilkins, who was brought over from Remington, a few days ago, by the township trustee. She has made her home with relatives in Remington for quite a number of years past. Granny Wilkins, as she is oalled, will be 104 years old in October. She spends a large portion of her time in sleep, but when awake gets about quite easily, with no help but her oane, Bhe hears and sees quite well, and for the most part is in good command of her mental faculties, though she has some of the ohildish haluoinations common to great age. Physically she is small, and much withered, being little more than a skeleton.

She has lived with a daughter Mrs. Robert Watson, in Remington for about 12 years past They are quite elderly and do not feel able to have the sole labor and expense of oaring for her any longer. She has also a son and a daughter in Ohio and another son in Illinois. The Remington relatives state that the other relatives refuse to aid in oaring for her. 1 - - Don’t forget the Old Settlers’ Meeting Sept 12, 1908. See notice.
