For House of “Ill Shape.”

Mrs. Sarah E. Burnsid, of the 80-oalled Foster House, on Main street, near the depot, was arrested Thursday night on proceedings began in the oirouit court oharging her with keeping a house of ill fame. With her was arrested an alleged inmate, a young woman known as “Trix.” Mrs. Burnside dug up SIOO oash bail and was re leased this morning, Trix has no money nor friends and is likely to stay in jail until court meets. The warrant for the arrests were sworn out by one Wm. H. Staley whose residence is Lafayette, but who was here doing some slate rooffing wofk, It seems that Staley’s wife was formerly Miss Laura Steel, a young woman who got considerable notoriety a year or two ago, in oonneotion with a oelebrated oriminal assault base, from Union township, and she was afterwards tried for perjury for alleged hard swearing, at the trial but was acquitted. It seems that she recently took a “position” in Mrs. Burnsid’s plaoe, and having written to Staley where she was and presumably what her vocation was, he came up and took her awhy, after a very lively row with the lady of the house. This episode was what caused the affidavits to be sworn out And now Staley has had a obanoe to see how it goes himself he havingbeen arrested next morning, by Sheriff Hardy, on a warrant from Lafayette, charging him with some violation of the fish law. It is a pretty old oharge.
