Death of Grandmother Shortridge.

The venerable Mrs. Esther Shortridge, a former well known resident of this oonnty, died last Saturday, Aug. 29th, 1903, at 4:30 p. m., at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. May Jordan, in Hammond. She died from the general weakness of old age, without any real siokness whatever. She was born in October 1804, and therefore laoked less than two months of being 99 years old. As usually happens in oases of such extreme age, most of her children and many of her graud-ohildren have preceded her to the other shore. Of all her ohildren one only survives, Wm. Shortridge of Sheldon, 111. Rev. Lemuel Shortridge a formerly well known minister of the Christian denomination was one of her sons. The funeral will be here in Rensselaer. The funeral party and the body will arrive here Tuesday, on the 10:55 a. m. train, and immediately thereafter the funeral will be held at the Ghuroh of God, Interment will be in Weston cemetery.
