Court House Rats Eat Up the Count er Jumpers.
There was a fine game of am atuer base ball at the ball park Thnrs - day afternoon. Perhaps the best of the whole series, in faot. The county offioers, otherwise the Court House Rats, played with the store olerks, otherwise the Counter Jumpers. The Rats got their claims in often, as usual, and had them allowed by the 00m mission era, or rather the umpire, for 11 runs. The Jumpers, being light weights, as always, only soored six times. And the rats only played four innings, while the olerks played five. *• Doc Washburn, county health officer, pitched for the Rats, and was a good one. Bert Brenner and Billy Merioa pitohed for the derks, and also did well. Fred and Roe Paroells, who didn’t belong on either aide, were pressed in as catchers, Fred for the olerka and Rue for the Rats. Myrt Prioe, of the Rats was the star batter, Bnt he wouldn’t run for anybody,
and onoe when he tried it he "measured” his length on the ground. But being a surveyor he was good at measuring. John Major was a fine Ist baseman, and it took a high ball to get away from him. Frank Eresler of the olerks hit the best fly, a home , runner. He was a good 2nd baseman and Haskell was -good op first.
