A Shakespearean Relic.
An interesting Shakespearean relic recently sold was the armchair made from the wood of the mulberry pr&a planted by Shakespeare in New Palace Garden, Stratford-on-Avon. The 'petb' gree of the chair is unquestionably authentic, since its history can be traced right from the time of the famous tree being cut down to the present day. It formerly occupied an honored place in the Stratford-on- S Avon Arms, Stratford. When the proprietor died, In 1845, it pa-sed into the possession of Ills daughter’s niece, by whom it was for some time exhibited in Sheffield Public museum, Weston park, At the sale-this unique relic was sold for one hundred and fifty pounds.
