OBITUARY.

Henry Mercer Babb, was bora Jane #hd f 1813 at Winchester Virginia* Came to Indiana from Ohio in Nov. 1838, moved to Rensselaer ip Nov. 1851. Wasmarried to Eleftnor Ann Lane, who ditd Jan. 7tb, 1897 at the age of 82 years, Their married life was me s v . congenial ooutnuing for a period of 64 years laoking 8 days. There was born to them 12 ohildren, eight girls and fonr boys. Fonr daughters, Mrs. PrioilJa Hopkins of Rensselaer, Mrs. Mary Knrsner of Chicago, Mrs. Susan Lockw >od of Lafayette, Mrs. Ida Tuompson of Reedrbnrg, Wisconsin, aud three sons, Samnel of Mcnticelle ard William and Edward of Rensselaer survive him. After a long and punful illness from oanoer, he died at tbe home of his daughter, Ida, on Ang. sth, 1903 at the advanced age of 90 years, 2 months and 3 day?, having retained bis mental faonlties al- - unimpaired to tbe latt. He united with the oharoh of God at Rensselaer in 1861 at or about the time of its organization, and has con tinned since to live a conscientious and devoted Christian life, according to his strong oonviotion of troth and its requirements, dying in fall hope of resarreotion with the dost unto Eternal Life through Christ. )
