The Library Meeting.
Sailing is Now Clear for the Carnegie Library. The stockholders of the Jasper Public Library met Saturday afternoon, per call; with 85 shares of stook represented. Also a fair attendance of representative citizens. All neoessary aotion was taken to advance the early construction of the Carnegie Library building, on the Moss lots, on Van Rensselaer and Angelica streets. S. P. Thompson presided and A. H. Hopkins, was seoretary. The aotion of the Jasper Library in donating 1300 worth of books to the Pnblio Library was endors. ed, as also their resolution to merge the Jasper in the Publio library as soon as the new build ing is completed. Also authorized the trustee of Marion tp. from levying any Jasper library tax this year. Resolutions of thanks were adopted: To Rev. 0. D. Royse. for securing Carnegie’s donation. To Hon. Jesse E. Also that the oity and township should joip in raising not less than SI,OOO per year to support the new library. The tax reooin mended was 7 tenths of a mill for the city and 2tenth of a mill for the township on eaoh SIOO taxable property.
