BOURKE COCKRAN, WHO MAY BECOME A BRITISH SUBJECT

Bourke Cockran, who, It Is said, may become a British subject, join the Irish party, and take a seat in Parliament, la a native of Ireland, and lived In that country until he was 17. He then came to the United States, settled in New York, taught for a time, and at length became a lawyer. Since 1884 he has been prominent in the Democratic party as one of the most eloquent of its speakers. In 1890 Mr. Cockran campaigned for the gold standard and McKinley. He has recently visited the Orient.
