An Old Settler’s Meeting.
The old settlers’ oommittee held a meeting Saturday and deoided to hold an old settlers’ meeting in Rensselaer, Saturday, September 12th. The following officers were reelected: S. P. Thompson, president; L. Strong, treasurer and C. E. Mills secretary. L. Strong was appointed a oommittee to look after suitable grounds, etc. The following persons from the townships named were seleoted to prepare papers on the early history of the county to* be presented at the meeting, discussions to follow their presentations: Hanging Grove, Wm. E, Moore; Gillam, Benjamin R. Paris; Walker, G. F. Meyers; Barkley, S. R.‘Nichols; Marion, C. Jordan, Frank Welsh; Carpenter, L. 8. Alter; Union, B. D. Comer; Keener M. M. Tyler; Wheatfield, Ed Biggs; Kankakee, I. D. Dunn. A basket pionio dinner will be a feature of the occasion.
