Maple Trees Being Destroyed.

According to the Valparaiso Messenger a large number of maple trees throughout that city are being killed by a worm which reoently made its appearanoe. What looks like a little ball of ootton is seen on the different limbs, but when the ball Jis torn apart the destructive worm is found. Owners of trees are anxiously seeking a remedy for the pests. We have the same here and in some parts of town the limbs are fairly white with the cotton-like balls of the insects. -Notably is this the case with some trees near the depot; but many in the public square are also affeoted.
