Letter to Messrs Warner Bros
Rensselaer, Tn (T, Dear Sirs: No man has more need of a quick and open mind for good new things than a hardware man, The whole town looks to him for advioe to buy this, and not to buy that, among tools and 1001 contrivances. It’s his business to know what is good, to drop the good, and sell his neighbors the better.
Our paint is not new—we are ourselves 148 years old —it is new to some, L Read what we guarantee: “If you have any fault to find with this paint, either now in tbe putting it on or hereafter in the the wear, tell your dealer about it,” “We authorize him to do what is right at our expence.” This is our short way of saying the paint is good. It is better than good: it is best: the only good paint. Old-fashion painter’s paint, lead and oil, is net good any longer—wears out in three years, Ours lasts six years, seven years, eight years, ten years, fifteen-in favorable conditions. Devoe Ready Paint is the paint. “B. F. Fendig is Devoe Agent for Rensselaer.” Yours truly,
F. W. DEVOE & Co.
