Wempe Gets His Deserts.

Edward Wempe. the old party whose various trials and attempted escapes filled so large a plaoe in he recent oriminal court history of Jasper oounty, has had his trial at Liberty, this state, on oharge of obtaining money under false pretenses. He was found guilty and bis punishment fixed at from one to three years in the penitentiary. There is no question but what Wempe had been making a regular business of hie swindling confidence operations for some time, and had victimized many persons, aud that his punishment ia well deserved.
