Beauty add Popularity Contests.
There was a great excitement at the Medioine Show, Saturday night, over the various prizes offered. * For handsomest young man there were a great many entries. All our best lookers being present, barbered and banged and curled and orimped. The judges were the two dauoing girls of the show and after passing through the audience and carefully inspecting all the handsome young men, their ohoice unaminously fell on Dr. A. L. Berkley, who didn’t even know he was a candidate, fit* prize was a silver loving cup.
For most popular young lady, he audienoe took a vote and Miss Jerne-Starr won the Ist prize, s ohipped diamond ring, with 2,200 votes. Mrs. Fred Parcells was a close seoond, witb 1,890 votes and was also awarded a prizj, also, a ring.
Mrs. Oaddie Martin was given a silver cup as the handsomest lady, being selected Dr. Whitespear, the proprietor. For prettiest baby the'prize was awarded to Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Murray’s baby, as selected by Mrs. Whitespear. A plush silver set given away by ohanoe, was by Harvey Cast >.
