Couldn’t Lick the River Rats.

A number of Rensselaer sports who went to Shelby Saturday on the 3:30 p. m. train, expeoting to make a night of it, oame back on the milk train, and. would have come still sooner, if there had been an earlier train. It seems they got into a general fight there with a lot of the “river rats” of Shelby and Water Valley, and were gettipg lioked so thoroughly that they found it advisable to fall baok on their reserves at the very first opportunity. Not having been able to thrash any of the Shelby sports, two of them proceeded to thrash eaoh other, when they reached Rensselaer. And at that last operation they seem to have done a pretty thorough job.
