Letter to Mr. J. P. Warner.
Rensselaer, Ind., Dear Sir: Suppose you are going to paint a bouae, and ask all the painters there are within reach to bid on it-you to famish materials, they to say what to use, and oharge for time aud know-how. How many will use the same paint? They, generally, will compound their own paints. There will be no two alike. And this is the end of the notion that painters know how to make paintThey know "how to put paint on; and that is their business. They ought to know what to buy. How many of them know what to buy? A blaoksmith boys nails, because better 6hoes and nails than he oan make aie made for—by machinery. Wagon makers bny wheels, beoanse better wheels than they oan make are made for less than they oan make them for-by machinery. Why should a painter make his own paint, when he oan buy better for less? We take the riek of how it turns out, besides. Devoe Ready Paint is the paint: lasts twice as long aa.the average paintlead and oiK “B. F. Fendig ia Devoe Agent for Rensselaer.” Yours truly,
