MOE TERRORIZES CITY.

Evansville In Bta«e of Turmoil Ovsr Efforts to I.ynch Negro. A mob broke into the jail at Evansville, Ind., and tried to find Lee Crown, the negro murderer of Policeman Louis N. Massey, whom ho, shot Saturday. Two other mobs had tried to lynch Brown, but were repulsed and then the prisoner was taken to Vincennes. The last mob that was formed would net believe Brown had been taken away. It intends to lynch some negro if Brown cannot be found. The militia was ordered out, for there was a bitter race war ragiug in the city. A white boy named Logan, was aliot by a negro. An unknown negro woman was killed and several negroes have been severely injured. >. The crowds on the streets increased and firing was heard in all directions. Rioting was everywhere. The police were cheered for numerous arrests of the negroes. A whole patrol wagon load of negroes was picked up on Water street and three hundred shots were fired after them. The mob rushed through the streets looking for negroes.
