Kankakee Township Downs the Saloons.
Kankakee township people have sat down on the saloons at the most decisively of any township in the oounty. The license application of Ernest Treiohel for a saloon at Dnnnville (or Tefffc) oame up at the- present term of the commissioners’ oonrt. It was defeated by a remonstrance signed by 69 names, wbioh is 9 more than a majority. 1 The applicant realized bis defeat and made no personal appearanoe before the commissioners. There was no opposition the DeMotte applicant, Fred Granger, and he was granted a license. He succeeds R. M. Dunn, who has quit the saloon business.
