In Montioello the merchants have organized and aooording to the Evening Journal of that city, will publish a "dead-beat” list for their own use. The purpose of this is to proteot each merohant of the organization against the oredit system to those known to be no good in point of the payment of debts, and if suoh steps were adpoted in every town it might have a salutary effeot in keeping Ihe professional “deadbeat” out of business They are \ quantity any town or city can easily dispense with.
