Jasper County Oil Fielder.

Indianapolis Journal. The recent finding of paying oil near Medaryville, is causing the investment of oapital and the building of oil refineries at Medaryville. Daring the week one hundred Milwaukee (Wie.) men oame on an excursion and invested a large oapital to further develop the Jasper-Palaski oounties oil distriot Contracts have been let for building refineries. It is reported that several gushers have been struok. There are about twenty companies drilling wells, and several wells gave a monthly output of 1,500 barrels, that was shipped to St. Louis refineries. The Indiana Pipe and Gas Line Company’s ten-inch mains pass through the territory, and the oil can be piped to Whiting, Ind„ to be used by the Standard Oil people until the local refineries are built.
