What Makes a Man Happy.
"What constitutes a happy man? ia a question often asked, but the happiest map in the world is the common, every-day chap who makes his own living, pays in own board and has the respect of his neighbors. Re saves a little money as he goes along, but he doesn’t try to get a corner in the looal output, and he is a slave to neither ambitiou nor society. When he slides iuto his pants in the morniDg he never wastes any time trying to pick out the right tint of socks, suspenders and neckties that will blend with the general effeot. He wears a "biled" shirt when he feels like it, and when his pet corn begins to jump be whips out bis jaok-knife and cuts a four inoh gash in ths side of his bout and nothing is said about it ia the papers. He has an appetite like a cyclone and never has to sit up nights and poultice his conscience. He believes in the doctrine of live and let live. When he enoounters one of the needy be doesn’t stutter with his pooket-book. The plain plug of a man is happy because he is satisfied and doesn’t spend the better part of his earnings, sometimes four sizes too big for him.
