Will Avenge Death of Countless Fish.
Btate Fish and Game Commissioners Sweeney and 0. N. Leighton, of the United States hydrographic survey, have been busy arranging for tbe> first battle in the joint war against the polluters of northern Indiana streams. They laid their plans to wage a vigorous campaign' against the Empire Nitroglyoerine Company. Every time there ib high water the Wabash river is lined with floating bodies of thousands of fish killed by refuse from the company’s factory. The refuse adds are dumped into a retaining vat, but the high waters wash the deadly fluid into the river. Three suits against the oompany and one oaae against each of the men working in it are pending in court, but the fish commissioner declares others will be filed and those pending will be prosecuted with vigor.
