Eight tickets were sold frem here to Indianapolis last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Graves and his two sisters, Lola and May, drove over from Morocco Sunday morning and took the train for Thayer to enjoy the day at the Kankakee. Frances Brsdy, of Chioago, visited her sister, Mrs. P. W. Nelson, Saturday till Monday Several from here attended the Sunday School Convention at Parr, last Sunday. M iss Pearl Mallett is confined to the house with a bad sore throat.
Bom, Thursday, June 18th, to Mr. and Mrs. Buzz Hooper, a son, Mrs. N. Littlefield and children, of Rensselaer, visited her brother F. R. Erwin and wife and other relatives a few days last week. Miles Mofßtt is recovering after a fonr weeks’ spell of sickness with typhoid fever. Work on the pickle factory is at a stand still for the present. Mrs. G. W Proudley, accompanied by Howard and Carter Sorenson, are spending this week with relatives in Chicago. The ladies cf the M. E. cbnrch will run a refreshment stand in the * park on July 4tb, the receipts of whioh wjll be used to help clear their cbnrch debt^_—: _
Mr. Schaefer, of the wholesale grocery house of Schaefer & Co., at Frankfort, was in town Tuesday on business. < Mrs. Cottingham pleasantly entertained the ladieft M. E. Aid Society at her home on Thursday afternoon of last week. Two new members were initiated into the society and other business transacted light refreshments were served and all went home in the evening feel, ing well repaid for the time spent. On Monday afternoon of tbis week, Mrs. Ike Kight entertainel the Si itty at her home in a like manner.
