They All Went to the Derby.

Quite a large delegation of Rensselaer’s lovers of horse flesh were in attendance at the Great American Derby Saturday. The most of those going had no hesitancy in stating their destination but occasionally we found one who “had other business” in Chicago today, and denied the Derby layout. Thus Col. Fred Phillips, assured us upon hie word that he received a telegram to oome te the Chioago Stook yards and left on the 9:55 train. _ He would not attend the Derby but thought he might perhaps get over there in the afternoon. Now as that particular train does not make a praotioe of getting into Chioago until shortly after twelve o’olock when it is on time, it makes the colonel’s story fall a little a short before it has had time to get oold. Furthermore when asked to produce that “Mysterious telegram” he oould not prt>duoe, and makes us think that he was giving ns a little fairy story. However, some of the boys will come home lighter financially than when they went.
