The Library Bonding Site

Of the two in question the Weston Park is certainly the best In faot it looks like it was intended for that purpose in the first place As to the availibility there is do question. All that is being said along that line is for the purpose of misleading. As to the approval of the selection by Mr. Carnegie we might just as sdrely expeot that he would approve of the park site as he would the other and the probabilities are that it would be his choice of the two. The convenience to the sohoolp; don’t be alarmed about that, the children will get there all right just the same. The people ought to be considered as having some interest in this matter. They will be taxed to maintain it and if there is any advantage in having a building of this kind let it acme to the oity. So far as transfering the school library and the Jasper publio library it can be done in two hours. The sohool reference books will not be tranefered, the others when onoe transfered will no doubt remain there.

The friends of the park site are not claiming to much when they say that it is an ideal site centrally located and becoming more so evefy- year. That it is a public place, but not a place where people congregate to do mischief. That it is a plaoe that will be seen by the traveling public going and oomiDg to our city. We have no disposition to detract from the value of Mrs. Moss’s property in any way, it is all right for a residence. The heating problem we have no aesnranoe whatever that' the city oould heat it in fact the probabilities are that they could not with the present outfit. It is ' only a question of time when 1 another sohool building will be built wbiob wonld have to be beat- 1 ed in some way and it wonld require all the surplus heat that will accumulate in fifty years. If the friends of the Moss site see fit to go down in their pockets and dig up $1,200 that would settle it no doubt. Still it would show poor judgement. Youbs fob Weston Pabk
