The farmers are busy cultivating their oorn which looks very well oonsidering the oold nights. Material is on the ground f.r soms of the build'ngs of the o 1 refine y. Edwin Faris and three children of Chalmers visited Gillatn friends Saturday and Sunday. His two little daughters Viola an 1 Myrtle will stay several weeks. The Misses Zelma, Clara and Mace Grices visi ed Gillam friends and took in the Educational Day at Medaryvi le. It has rained ail around this immediate neighborhood for several days without even settling the dust here, there was a hard ra n Saturday in the south part of Gillam and quite an electrio display the lightning killed 4 valuable head of oattle for Austin Rathfon. Miss Kentner who lived with her mother and brother on a Gifford farm about one mile from Asphaltum died after a short illness the neighbors did not knew she was seriously siok the funeral was held at the West Vernon Christian okuich, in terment in the Hershman cemetery. Mr. Preston is preparing to begin drilling more oil wells in the □ear future. Big business in the oil field this summer.
Ed. George and Flora Hershman returned home last Friday from Valparaiso, *nd , where they have been attending normal for some weeks.
