Fair Oaks ' i Mrs. J. C. Thompson was a business visitor at the county seat Monday. Mrs Kate Reynolds, of Chicago, visited relatives in town a few days this we<-k. Sie was formerly Katie Gilmore. Mrs J R. Mallett is visiting Mr, and Mrs. Reese Dunn, at DeMotte, this wee r. Miss Carrie Mo Kay, of Rensselaer, spent Sunday with her parents and other friends. Miss Stella Gundy, of Rose Lawn, vi ited her brother Chas. Gundy aad family last Satarday. The piokle faotory is looming up in good shape and will soon be oompleted. Peter Zea and others were at Rensselaer Saturday on business. Grandpa Erwin visited his daughter, Mrs. N. Littlefield, at Rensselaer last Thursday. Grandma Manderville spent last week with her granddaughter, Mrs. Goldsberry, in the oountry. Reese Dunn and wife, of DeMotte, visited relatives and friends in town several days last week. Roy Mo Kean, of Chicago, visited Dr. and Mrs. Proudley, from Saturday till Monday of last week. Maud Fry, of Miohigan City, was the guest of Mrs. P. W. Nelson, and other friends in town a few days ast week.
Rev. Hall a good sermon to a fair sized audience at the M. E. church last Friday evening. H s next date is two weeks hence. Mrs. T. J. Mallett was at Lowell last Bunday to see Dr Garfish, with whom she has been treating for some time. E. church will give their first annual straw, berry and ice cream sooia' of the season, at the school house, next Saturday evening, June 13th, 1903 Let there be a large attendance. Joe Nelson and two little daughters, of near Brookston, spent a few days’ this week with his sister, Mrs Udorus Cottingham.
I Geo. Brouhird and Buzz Hooper, who are sawing logs Pine Village, were home on Sunday with their families. Levi Hodge visited his daughter, Mrs. Chas, Wilson, last Sunday. Mesdames Ed. Kessler and Henry Wilson are visiting their mother, Mrs. Litner, near Valparaiso, this week, Jaok Kight received a fine new rubber-tired sulky from The MoMurray Sulky Co., Marion, Ohio, last Monday. Mrs. Abe Halleok and children, of Rensselaer, were the guests of rela. tives in town and at Pembrook a few days this week. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zea attended Commencement exercises at Monon on Thursday evening of last week. Her neioe, Miss Carrie Gwin, was one of the graduates.
Chalmers Fry returned Friday, after visiting his parents at Michigan City for two weeks. He reports them doing well in the hotel business. The annual Commencement of the Union township sohools will be held at Parr. Saturday evening, June 27.
