Jim Fross Wants Damages.

Jim Fross, the only one of his kind on earth, was in town Tuesday night, looking for an honest lawyer, and seemed to be finding it a hard searoh. Jim wanted to bring suit for big damages, but whenever he got a line on any lawyer he was discouraged by the assurance of bystanders that, that particular lawyer would take half the judgement for his fee and the other half for collecting. And most of them would want a retaining fee besides. Jim wants damages for personal injuries. He explained that he was riding home with somepartieep and as they drew near the Iroquois river they began to talk earnestly about throwing Jim into the river and giving him a bath. Rather than take that risk, almost oertain death, Jim jumped out and the buggy ran over his hand, injuring the same, aud also blacking bis eye.

Of course anything short of a broken baok was better than a bath, and Jim is not sorry that be he jumped. Still he thinks be he has a good case against the parties, Jim posed for a Kodak with injured band raised and bis hat tipped back to display bis blaok eye and bis noble expanse of intellect. The picture will be valuable evidence for Jim when bis law suit comes np-if be finds an honest lawyer.
