City Council Proceedings.

The Oity Council held their regular meeting Monday evening, with all present except B. F. Pergnson;, The treasurers report was received which was as follows: Corporation fund overdrawn.... Washington street improvemet fund on band ....... $37 50 Road fund on hand $363.63 Water fund on hand $115035 Light fund overdrawn. 1.. $513.76 Fifty-five claims were passed upon and allowed. The board elected Chas Coen to fill the vacancy on the School Board, supposed to have been caused by the expiration of G. K. Hollingsworth’s term but which in reality was by the expiration of Delos Thompson’s term The matter has been allowed to stand so far and it will likely remain so W. B. Austin presented a remonstrance against a side walk cn Madison street, which was referred to the committee on streets. A vote was taken to renew the insurance on the City ball, and also to insure the depot hose cart house and oontents for the snm of sßoo,' with O, G. Spitler’e agency. A contract was awarded the Victoria Coal Minning Co, of Linton Ind, for the Green Co, Coal et a rate of $2.60 per ton, J. W. Hortonsand other presented a petition for the extension of Plnm street so that it will oonnect with Division street The street asked for is to be 30 feet wide aoroes the north end of the triangular park next to J. W. William’s residence. They also ask that a slrip of road 15 feet wide along the east side of the park be vacated and thrown into the park. Franklin street of this point is considerable wider than is thought necessary.
