The Doctor’s Farewell.
Quite a notable event in the line of stag parties was pnlled off at the Armory hall of the new K. of P. building, Tuesday night. It was Dr. I. M. Washburn’s farewell to his friends and associates before be dons the robes of a benedict. This was one of the nicest and best conducted affairs of the kind ever held in laer.Friends of the prospective groom to the nnmber of forty were invited and partook of the refreshments and assisted in the passing of an enjoyable evening by responding to numerous and well chosen toasts. The doctor prooured from Chicago two of the beet of entertainers to lend their assistance in the way of oraoking jokes, relating anecedotes, imitations and otherwise affording continuous amusement to the guests. They were Messrs. Woodruff and MoEwen both of Chioago and of wide reputations. Light refreshments were served by Messrs. Goff & Son which were as delicious as they were well served. Contrary to the usual idea conoernmg these kind of parties, everything passed off with extreme credit to the doctor’s management and as we were reliably informed was as well conducted as though it bad been a veritable “hen party” 'end with a whole lot less noise and clatter.
