Man and Wife Charged With Larceny.
Conrad Sohaffer Sr. father of the reoent owner of the Short Order house here, owns a sand and slough farm in the east part of Jordan tp., which he has rented to Martin L. Wolford. When Mr. Schaffer left the farm he left a lot of bedding and other similar artiolee locked in a room in the house. These goods, according to Mr. Sohaffer have beeu largely oppropriated by the Wolfords, and Thursday Sohaffer and Constable Viok went ont with a searoh warrant, and looked for the goods. About all they found in the Wolfords’ possession, that could be identified, wae a pair of pillow slips. Some and feather beds were found in Sohaffer’s room all right, but are said to have borne evidence of having been cut open and most of the feathers taken out. Friday Sohaffer had warrants issued for the arrest of Wolford and his wife, charging them with laroeny, and in the afternoon constable Zea went out and brought them in, before Squire Irwin. They stated that they had "borrowed” some of the old gentleman’s goods, not expecting that he would be back to need them. The Squire set tbeir v hearing for next Thursday morning and rereleased them on their own recognizance.
