Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 35, Number 75, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 26 May 1903 — No More Smallpox. [ARTICLE]
No More Smallpox.
Smallpox is a thing of the past now, and it is gone to stay gone Of the 1 whole 34 places that were under quarantine, all but one have now been released, and that one will be in a day or two at the farthest. Extreme care is taken that no oase is released until every partiole of danger of contagion is past. Then equal oare is taken that every germ is destroyed by thorough fumigation with formaldehyde gas, the most efficient germicide known to science. The last quarantine to be lifted was the tent in the ball park. The two inmates, Chas. Fox and Austin Haas are both in fine condition. There is no longer the slightest danger of contagion in coming to Rensselaer.
