Library Board Acts.
The Publio Library Board had an important meeting Wednesday afternoon, to take aotion on the question of procuring a site for the proposed Carnegie building. It waa proposed to buy of Mrs. L. A. Moss two lots on Van Rensselaer street, at the corner of Cordelia street for $1,200. The proposition qnried, with the proviso that the money be raised by a publio subscription. Another meeting is to be held on Monday night June Ist, and the soliciting coxmitt6C will then make report. The vote to purchase this site by a vote of 5 to 8. Another proposition then made was, if the popular subscription failed, to locate the library on one of the city’s two small publio parks, whioh carried. A vote was then taken as to which of the two parks should be the place, and the choice fell on Weston Park. This is the small triangular tract of land at the junction of Division, Franklin and Plum streets, and lying just south of J. W. Williams’ residency. - The vote on the two parks was five for Weston to three for Milroy. The committee appointed to solicit subscriptions consists of T. J, McCoy, and Rev. C. D. Rcyee.
