The Facts Can’t Be Suppressed.

The folly and the futility of trying to suppress the'faots of an epidemic in a town for fear of injuring business men was recently illustrated in Logansport. They got the smallpox pretty bad there, but the newspapers said nothing about it But the faot that they had it went out just the same, as it is sure to do in this day of telephones, and, just as it is here, the telephone and letter aeoofints greatly-exaggerated the faots, with the result that the people around Logansport believed that the newspapers were suppressing the faots because they were too terrible to be told, and the result was the business of the town was hurt worse than if the true faots had been plainly published. And the same result exactly would have followed any attempt at suppression of the faots here.
