Rev. Appleton was visiting old friends in town a few days this week, Miss Nellie Davis spent Sunday and Monday with relatives and friends at Shelby. = Chas Baker has moved here from Rose Lawn and is employed on the Monon section. People are quite busy cleaning house these fine days. Mrs. P. W. Nelson and daugh'er Irene, were in Chicago the latter part of last weet John Baker, .wife and children, spent a few days this week in Chicago, where she is treating with Dr. Porter for lung trouble. Sam Thornton and wife, of Surrey, spent Sunday with relatives in town, Mr and Mrs, F, R. Erwin ..and Mrs. G. W. Prondley, were the guests of Neen Littlefielcf and family at Rensselaer, last Sunday. fc Floyd Jennings, of Brookston, spent Sunday with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Cottingham.
A new time card went into effect on the Monon last Sunday. No changes were made in the trains passing Fair Oaks. Mrs. Mundon has returned home after a several weeks’ visit with her Son John and family at Momenoe. Ten tickets were sold at this place for the Chicago excursion last Sunday. Allen Gault called on old friends in town last Sunday. John D. Sink was In town Sa‘u'l day looking after business matters. Neva Carder is the proud possessor of a fine new Cornish organ as a birthday present from her parents. Ike Kigbt has- redressed his residence with fresh paint. Win Blair did the work. J. C. Thompson was at Hammond on Wednesday of last week to be examined for an increase of pension. Mrs. Jacob Keener, Mrs. Barney Dewitt, Mrs. Hall and Edyth Moffitt are on the sick liat but are improving. Udorus Cottingham was at the county seat Tuesday on business.
