A press dispatch from Peru, Ind. says: When the Frances Blocum monumernt waa unveiled a few miles east of here some months ago, one of the leading characters participating in the exercises was MissfMabel Ray Bundy, one of the direct descendants of Frances 81oou my ths ♦‘White Bose of the 1 Miamia,” The Bloonra family clans from all parte of the country, many of themwealtby, announced, their intention of giving this bright Indian girl a thorough collegiate education. The plane as now arranged are to send Mise Bundy to the Haskell institute at Lawrence, Kan., for a three years’ course of etudy, after which she is to be adopted into the wealthy 81ooum family. Mise Bnndy unveiled the shaft at the time of dedication. She Is now 18 years years old and has the distinguishiDg features of her great-grand-mother, Frances Slocum, marked red haifr-—The atnry of Frances Slocum is well known. A re-union of the'deecendants will be held in that city some time during the coming year, They now number about 125 all told.
