Ended In a Bust Up.
The game of base ball here Wednesday between Lowell and St. Joseph College was a very fiae performance, both sides putting up a fine article of base ball. Both sides had hard work to score and pp to the last part of the 9th inning the score stood 2 to 1 in favor of Lowell. At that point, when St. Joseph was at the bat and had two men out and two strikes counted on the other man, a St. Joseph man sneaked in, while the pitcher was befuddled over the faot that a new ball and a foul ball were both in his hands, and he did not know “whioh from tother.” The umpire first decided that St. Joseph scored and that brought up a big wrangle, and before it ended Lowell left the field. The umpire then reversed his decision and sent the Bt. Joseph man back to third base, but Lowell had left the field and inning oould not be finished. Under the rules in such oases the game was then given to St. Joseph with the reoord to stand 9 0. There was a large attendanoe at the game.
