The Circuit Court.
A rather unusual case was tied Wednesday and Thursday. Rev. Jacob Dyke, former pastor of the Remtngton Presbyterian church sued the church trustees for half a year’s salary, about $350. He served one full year for $750, and then half a year longer when the "sessions” dismissed him, paying him to the time of his dismissal. He sued for his salary to the end of the year. The case was given to the jury at 2 p. m. Thursday. The jury was out about an hour, and brought in a verdict in favor of the plaintiff, for $350, the full amount he sued for. The case turned largely on the right of a “session” or the four elders of the church to dismiss a minister.
