The Monon Can Consolidate Now.
The bill to enable railroad corporations to consolidate their lines was passed by the senate Tuesday. The bill was so amended that the railroads incorporated under the laws of the state “shall be subject to all the duties, burdens and obligations now or hereafter imposed ‘bylaw.” Another provision limits consolidations to roads sold under decrees of courts and purchased by other railroad companies. This bill will, as we understand, apply especially to the Monon, which was bought some time ago by the L. &. N. and the Southern roads, but has never been formally incorporated into their system. It also fills the bill by having been sold under decrees of court. Several times for that matter.
