It seems as though the dead of winter has come once more. People are lost since Old Blackford has turned up its toes and died and they have to go to Aix for their mail. Jack George and family, of Chi. cago, visited his brother Will George over Sunday. * George Masters will move on the John Renicker farm and work for John. Gertie atod Arthur Robey have gone to Monticello for a week’s stay. Several from this vicinity attended the funeral of Grandma Henkle at Brushwood Saturday. Frank Hayes was called to the bed-side of his brother in Delaware Co., who is very bad sick. Several of the young folks gathered at the home of Elias Arnold and spent the evening with Miss Anna Bane. Those present were Messrs. Len and Harry Hayes ,Bluford, Roy Torbet, Dan and George Hopkins and Nat*Uray, Misses Flossie and Maggie Torbet, Wayne Hays, Stella Hanson, Cassie Uray and Ethel and Maude Walker. All adjourned at a late hour reporting a good time had. George Daniels, wife and son, Reece Robey and wife, James Torbet and son and daughters, Creals and Maggie, attended the surprise at Newland given in honor of Mrs. W. N. Jordan’s fiftieth birthday.
