Back to the Philippines Again.
Lieut. Bates Tuoker of the 14th U. S. infantry, is now making another big jump, from the hyperborean regions around Fort Brady, at Sault St. Marie, at the eastern end of Lake Superior, dear back to the tropical regions of the Pb ilippines. He left the “Soo” Wednesday for San Francisco, and expects to sail for Manila next Saturday. Hie bride of about two months ago is with him, which fact will lend very materially to relieve the tedium of his long journey. Yea, verily, it will make the whole ten thousand mile trip, jn9t one long bridal tour. 'Well Bates is a fine fellow as well as a lucky fellow, and we hope his army promotions and his family increases will go hand in hand, and both come thick and fast.
