Youngest Convict Taken Away.

Smith Jones, the—youDgest life convict in the United Stateß, was Friday taken from the prison at Michigan City, where he has been confined the past year, to the Boy’s Reformatory at Plainfield. Jones was convicted in Warrick county on a charge of murder in the 'fall of .1901 and was sentenced to a life term. He was then but 13 years of age and his tender years won the sympathy of Shideler and prison officials. Warden Reid, with the co-opera-tion of the former warden, interceded with Governor Durbin, who ordered the boy sent to Plainfield to remain until he is of age, when he will be released.
