About the Public Schools.
County Superintendent Hamilton, having visited every sohool in Jasper county, both town and ' country, has issued his 6th circular letter to teaohers and officers. Be reports that the present active teaohing force in Jasper county is 139. Of these 112 are teaching in the township schools, 16 in Rensselaer and 11 in Rem- ' - ington and Wheatfield.. Of the whole force 11 are graduates of colleges or universities, and 6 of state normal schools. Sixty are graduates of high schools, and 60 have attended normal schools or colb leges one or mors years. Of those who have not had some training above common sohools, local normals or small high sohools, If there are none. The sohools of the county are in a most excellent condition and
doing effective work; The high schools of Rensselaer and Rem- ' ington arc specially 'commended, _ and the establishing of a high school at Wheatfield, for all the nort'yern townships, is strongly recommended.
The lengths of terms of sohools in the different townships, is as follows: Barkley, Union, Milroy, Gillam, Walker, Eeener and Wheatfield, six months. Eankakee, 6J months. Hanging Grove, Newton, Marion and Jordan, 7 months. Carpenter 7} months.)
