The Delinquent Tax Sale.

The annual sale for delinquent taxes took place Monday afternoon Sat. and still more Mon. forenoon there was a rush to pay up, so that by the time the sale opened it was a pretty small list to be offered. Of the original 168 delinquencies only 70 were left to All of these were sold except four, two in jKeener and one each in Kankakee and Union. There were plenty of buyers but no special competition; the first bidder usually getting the whole piece for the taxes, Treasurer Parkison officiated as auctioneer, and in a manner to have made Col. Fred Phillips turn green with envy.
