A New Schedule of Salaries.

The Senate fees and salaries Committee has amended Senator Gard’s bill for a revision of county officers’ salaries, and reported the bill for passage. The amended bill is satisfactory to the officers, many of the amendments having been made after consultation with them. The new schedule of salaries is as follows: Clerks, $l2O on every 1,000 popalation up to 10,000, S9O for every 1,000 thereafter and 10 per cent, of fees. Auditor, $l2O, With SIOO after 10,000, with S3OO for additional services; sheriffs, $l2O, with $75 after 10,000, and 10 per cent, of all fees; treasurers, $l2O, with S6O after 10,000, with 10 per cent, of delinquent taxes; recorders, $l2O with S6O after 10,000, and 50 per cent, of fees collected in excess of salaries as fixed in the bill on th“ basis of population.
