Circumstances Alter Cases.
A teacher had just told the story of Washington end his hatchet, and had dwelt largely and earnestly on the beauties of telling the truth under any and all circumstances. but she noticed one little fellow on whom the lesson seemed to fall as seed upon stony ground. On being pressed for his opinion he said: "That might a’been all right fur Washington, but I’ll bet a $4 pup if that had a’been my dad’s cherry tree the next time little Georgia used his hatchet he’d a’lied about it good and plenty.”
