Temperature’s Terrible Tumble.
| The temperature took a terrible tumble Thursday afternoon and night. At noon Thuraday it stood at 55 degrees, an unu sally high mark for January, About' noon /the wind, shifted to the northwest and the mercury began pursuing the downward path, at a oonsta atly accelerated pice. This morning it was at 18 above, or a fall of 37 degrees in 18 hours. Which make a big fall for that length of time. And while 18 above is far from being very cold winter weather for this region, the very high winds and great change from so much warmer made pretty tough weather. But it might have been much worse, especially of the change had been accompanied by a big snow storm.
