No State Land in Jasper.

In a recent article on the state survey of meandered lands along the Kankakee river, we mentioned that there were 9,000 acres of each lands belonging to the state along . the river, inolnding tbe north portion of Jasper county. Some of | our readers have understood from that that the whole 9,000 qcres was in this county, whereas a more oarefol reading of the article would show that we stated there were 9000 aores in all of snoh lands. In faot it has been onr understanding all along that only a very small part of this state land was in Jasper county and we now have reliable information that there is probably not an acre of land in Jasper oonnty that the state can lay claim to. This land is praotioaliy all or nearly all in Laporte and Stark oounties, principally tbe latter.
